ICAR MedCom Spring Meeting in Boulder, Colorado April 6-9 2022 - *cancelled*
Sadly we had to make the decision to cancel the Spring Meeting in Boulder, Colorado this April 2022. Due to the feedback given by our members and due to the ongoing very dynamic pandemic situation we had to abandon our plans to meet in person this Spring. There will not be a virtual event instead.
The next ICAR meeting will take place in Montreux in Switzerland in October 2022.
Update 18.11.2021
ICAR Digital Congress 2021
Due to the CoVid Pandemic, the ICAR General Assembly (GA) and Assembly of Delegates (AoD) took place virtually again this year. Nevertheless we were able to engage in excellent presentations and discussions and even the AoD could be held including the scheduled election of the ICAR Board. You will find more details on that on the ICAR main page.
With the technical support of Topograph Media, the event took place using the Zoom(R) webinar platform, and we are pleased to report that the recordings are now available on the ICAR VIMEO web site. The links are shown here:

* NEW ICAR MEDCOM RECOMMENDATION*
A new ICAR MedCom Recommendation has been published by Steven ROY et al:
Recommendations are provided for protection of the rescuer (including screening, personal protective equipment [PPE], and vaccination), protection of the patient (including general masking if low risk, specific PPE if high risk), equipment hygiene (including disinfection after every mission), use of single-use products, training and medical measures under COVID-19 precautions, and psychological wellbeing of rescuers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Adapted COVID-19 precautions for low-and-medium-income countries are also discussed.

Clinical staging of accidental hypothermia is used to guide out-of-hospital treatment and transport decisions.
This revised system simplifies assessment.

'These recommendations are based on an unanimous consensus opinion of ICAR Medcom. Unusually we are publishing these before a definitive peer reviewed article will be published. We feel this deviation from our normal practice is important for the safety of patients'

Recently, the Lancet published an article about CPR in special circumstances drawing once more the attention to delayed and intermittend CPR, the hypothermia algorithm and the HOPE Score.
